Here are twenty facts about Taylor Swift.

  • Taylor Swift was born on 13th December 1989 in Reading, Pennsylvania, United States.
  • She comes from a family with lots of connections to the financial industry. Several of her ancestors were bank presidents, her father is a financial adviser and her mother used to work as a marketer for a mutual fund.

  • She lived on a Christmas tree farm as a young child.
  • She loved horse riding and her family owned several horses and ponies.
  • From the age of nine, Taylor Swift developed her love of performing music. Inspired by the songs of Shania Twain and LeAnn Rimes, Taylor started to perform at small festivals, fairs, talent contests and karaoke contests.
  • The first song she wrote was called Lucky You.
  • Taylor managed to have one of her songs featured on a Maybelline Cosmetics CD and she was given a deal by RCA Records.
  • Taylor and her family moved to Nashville when she was fourteen so that she could be closer to the country music industry.
  • Her debut album Taylor Swift was released in 2006. Taylor had a hand in the writing of all of the album’s tracks, writing three of them on her own. It went on to sell more than 5 million copies (and counting).
