Here are 20 facts about Jessie J, the British singer and songwriter.

  1. Jessie J’s full name is Jessica Ellen Cornish.
  2. She was born on 27th March 1988 in Chadwell Heath, London.

  2. When she was 11, she appeared in a West End production of Whistle Down the Wind by Andrew Lloyd Webber.
  3. In 2003 she appeared on the TV show Britain’s Brilliant Prodigies, winning the ‘Best Pop Singer’ category.
  4. She joined the BRIT School at the age of 16.
  5. She has Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome – a disorder of the heart’s conduction system. It caused her to have a stroke at the age of 18.
  6. She began recording her debut record, Who You Are, in 2005. She completed it in 2011. Released by Lava Records, the album has sold more than 2 million copies (and counting).
  7. Jessie J appeared as on of the coaches on The Voice UK TV series.
  8. She supports Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.
  9. For the Comic Relief charity, Jessie J shaved her head live on TV on 15th March 2013.
