A lot of art is lacking a sense of humour. It’s a fun thing to be able to draw and create your own world, and sometimes it is funny. I’m not afraid of people laughing at me or if they don’t get it.
Mr Doodle
- He doesn’t plan any of his works in advance beyond having a theme in his head.
- He likes the characters in the Super Mario videogames, and the Line Friends charcaters.
- He has completed more than 400,000 doodles.
- In 2021, Mr Doodle (Sam Cox) married Mrs Doodle (Alana Kutsenko). She adds colours to the works created by Mr Doodle, treating his doodles as pages from colouring books. In public she wears colourful doodled clothing, whereas the doodled clothes worn by Mr Doodle tend to be black and white.
- In 2019, Mr Doodle purchased a large house in the village of Tenterden in Kent for $1.35. Over the next three years he doodled over every surface on the inside and outside of the building. Every room has a theme (the hallway is inspired by Noah’s Ark, and the stairs are Heaven and Hell). He used spray paints to doodle the house’s exterior, and acrylic paint was applied with bingo markers on the inside.
- His bathrrom has more than 2000 small tiles, and he has doodled each one with a sea theme.
My main inspiration still goes back to when I was a kid watching Tom and Jerry, Wacky Races and SpongeBob SquarePants, and video games like Crash Bandicoot. I always wanted to draw characters for video games.
