  • Harry Potter is a fictional character created by the British author J. K. Rowling. The 7 books featuring Harry have sold over 450 million copies around the world.
  • There have been 8 Harry Potter films, the first one being Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, produced in 2001. English actor Daniel Radcliffe has played Harry in all the films.

  • The books have won many awards, including Hugo best novel award and WH Smith book of the year. Three of the books have been included in a list of the top 100 chapter books.
  • Harry was born in on July 31st, 1980 in Godric’s Hollow in the west of England. His creator, JK Rowling was born on the same month and day in 1966.
