Giggs was born in Cardiff, Wales in November 1973. He enjoyed playing rugby league until the family moved to Manchester when Ryan was 6 years old.
He played for Salford Boys, leading them to victory in the 1987 Granada Schools Cup competition. Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson visited Giggs’ house personally, as he was so impressed with his skill.
Ryan Giggs made his league debut playing for Manchester United against Everton in 1991. Giggs was only 17, the youngest ever member of United’s first team.
Giggs hosted his own television show during the 1990s about football skills, and also wrote a book based on the show. He has appeared in advertisements for watches, cologne, burgers and cable television.
He has scored more goals against Tottenham Hotspur than against any other team. He was the first player to score 100 premier League goals for Manchester United.
He has introduced ballet and yoga as part of his training routine, stating that yoga helps to give him strength and flexibility.
